  • Created anomaly detectors with BERT on firmware logs to diagnose drive failures for technology development
  • Built time-series classifiers for SSD failure prediction in data centers using firmware behavioral indicators like rate of reads and writes to prevent catastrophic data loss for customers

Founder, Lead Data Journalist — Covid In Custody Project

  • Built the only publicly-available comprehensive COVID-19 dataset for 58 California jails
  • Led a team of 60+ interns to file over 250+ public records requests to state agencies for information that exposed outbreaks, uncovered undocumented jail deaths and policy failures
  • Designed data transparency metrics to quantify government transparency and integrated datasets into the CDC's COVID tracker through the UCLA Law Behind Bars Data Project
  • Published op-eds, research and data reports in the SF Chronicle, CalMatters, Nevada Law Journal and UCLA Law Behind Bars Data Project respectively
  • Cited in peer-reviewed papers in epidemiology and public health, and the book FESTER by Prof. Hadar Aviram
